I understand your concern that the sim card is not recognizing in your phone and apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. I would request you to check the network bands of your device in the specifications. If it does not match to the particular carrier bandwidth, so we cannot assure you that your device works with the network of your region because this particular product is designed on the basic requirement of that particular region.
Also, would request you to consult your telecom operator whether their SIM card is compatible with the phone in the network. And then please follow the below steps to check this problem:
• Please dial *#06# on your phone, and then check whether you can see the IMEI number. If you could, the phone might be in normal condition
• Please re-install the SIM card and check whether it's good for use
• Please dial *#*#4636#*#*, and check the "phone information", you'll find the network information here. If it's above -100dBm, the network condition is ok
• Please change another SIM card on the phone and check whether it's working
• Please change a new SIM card from your telecom carrier and then check whether it could use
Manual Network
1. Go to "Settings"
2. Select "Sim and Mobile Network"
3. Select "Sim" ( through which using internet)
4. Select "Cellular Network"
5. Select "Manual"
Hardware Test
1. Dial *#*#6484#*#*
2. Select Single Item Test (if the option is available)
3. Select the options related to sim card
4. Perform the test by choosing the appropriate options
If the test passes, then I would request you to follow the below mentioned steps.
Sign Out from your Mi Account
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Mi Account
3. Then confirm to Sign Out
Create a Backup
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Additional Settings
3. Select Backup and Reset
4. Select Local Backups
5. Select Backup
6. Select Accounts and Contacts & Deselect System
7. Then select Backup so that a backup would be created
For Finding Backup File
1. Go to Internal Storage
2. Select Miui
3. Select Backup
4. Select All Backup
(Note :- Please save the backup file in your system so that your important data would be prevented)
Factory Data Reset
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Additional Settings
3. Select Backup and Reset
4. Tap on Factory Data Reset
For ROM Flash follow below steps:
1. Visit

2. Click on downloads, select appropriate model
3. Click on Global/ China version and download full ROM (Stable version)
4. Copy the downloaded zip file to downloaded_rom folder in internal storage of the device. (If you do not have the folder named downloaded_rom in your device, then request you to create new folder by this name)
5. Go into tools select updater
6. Tap on top right corner(...) and choose update package
7. Browse for the folder downloaded_rom and select ROM file
8. Tap on update
Restore the Backup
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Additional Settings
3. Select Backup and Reset
4. Select Local Backups
5. Select Backup File
6. Select Restore in order to complete this process
